FMP 104: THE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT CAREER PROFESSIONAL: Career professionals may be smart, savvy, and have impeccable credentials and experience. But that isn’t all it takes. Their career success and career advancement will also hinge upon how well they are able to handle themselves and the many other stakeholders who are connected with the work that they do. The effective and competitive career professional, especially as a new generation of career professionals enters the ranks, is one who is also emotionally intelligent.
This program focuses specifically on the personal and social emotional intelligence competencies that career professionals need to deliver results. It will explore the skills that will strengthen the career professional’s abilities to operate in complex environments, build effective teams, manage change, and provide leadership. Through lecture, discussion, and experiential hands-on activities, participants will explore how they can harness, improve, and increase their emotional intelligence competencies and apply them, particularly in complex, competitive, and challenging environments.
Participants in this full-day or multi-day program will be guided through a personalized emotional intelligence assessment instrument and will have an opportunity to analyze and use the data they collect about their own emotional intelligence to establish individualized development goals. They will also complete an emotional intelligence template to craft an individualized emotional intelligence development action plan with specific objectives, learning strategies, benchmarks, and a development timeframe.
